Recyclable White Thermal Paper Receipt

A major development for the Italian market and for every business that pays attention to environmental sustainability: for the first time, a phenol-free thermal paper receipt is officially recognized as recyclable with paper waste. (Aticelca Method 501:2023 – Level A result – Report no. 11130-0015 dated 4 February 2026) A landmark achievement, made possible by the joint work carried out together with Assografici, which led to ATICELCA certification for the recyclability of phenol-free thermal paper.

This is a significant step forward in terms of the circular economy, recognized by COMIECO as well, which has updated its guidance on the page dedicated to the correct handling of receipts. The official announcement was also circulated by CONAI and ANCI, confirming how important this innovation is for the entire supply chain.

Features and benefits

This thermal paper is completely free of any phenol (BPA and BPS) (Test report: INERIS – 232703-283555), making it safe for the operator who handles it every day. Unlike the blue-tinted BLUE4EST version, this paper is white like any other traditional receipt: the end consumer can easily recognize it as recyclable thanks to the distinctive mark printed on the back, which certifies its recyclability and indicates that it belongs in separate paper waste collection.

Our rolls are made with an inner cardboard core and packed in paper flowpack. This means that the entire packaging — from the roll to the wrapping — can go into paper waste collection, with no room for error and with a further reduced environmental impact.
